The funeral for Esther Ida Christensen Andrews, 88, will be 10 AM Saturday,
January 2, 2010, at the Hillcrest Baptist Church, Stillwater. Pastor John Dickey
will officiate.
A private family burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry.
Arrangements are by Brown – Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.
She was born May 6, 1921, in a dugout near Campo, Colorado, to Neal Robert and
Ida Louise Reschke Christensen and died Thursday, December 24, 2009.
At a young age, her family moved to a farm outside Perry. She graduated from
Perry high school in 1939 and went on to attend nursing school.
She married Leoan Theadore "Andy" Andrews May 9, 1944, in Perry. Through the
years, she worked with her husband on construction projects and on several golf
courses. She also baby – sat for many years. In 1980, they moved to Stillwater.
He died December 24, 1982. She moved to Smithville, Texas, to live with her
daughter in 2008.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Stillwater, and then Timberline
Fellowship of Paige, Texas.
Surviving are five children and three step children; 40 grandchildren, 57 great
– grandchildren; and 21 great – great – grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, nine
grandchildren, one great – grandchild and one great – great – grandchild.
