Calvin Ray Walls, currently of San Antonio Texas, but a longtime resident of
Garber Oklahoma, passed away on September 1st, 2024.
Funeral services will
be Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10AM at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral home
Chapel with Reverand Jim Edmison officiating.
Burial will follow in Grace
Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma, with full military honors provided by the
United States Air Force Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on
Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 7pm to 8pm at the funeral home. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and
Crematory.
Calvin, who many folks simply called “Ray” was born in Tippo, Mississippi on
December 1, 1931, to Laura and Nathan Walls. He joined the United States Air
Force in 1949, retiring after 20 years of service with a rank of Master
Sergeant. Following a career in the Air Force, Ray was in the car business,
with numerous car lots, including the Chevrolet dealership in Garber and
Hennessey, and the Jeep-Eagle dealership in Stillwater. Following retirement
from the car business, Ray was an avid gardener at his home north of Garber
and enjoyed his daily four-mile walks with his dogs. He took special pride,
joy and love in his family and watching his grandsons grow into fine young
men.Ray married Polly Hollingshead on her family’s farm north of Lucien,
Oklahoma on November 4, 1956. Together they raised three sons; Monty,
Dustin, and Buddy. They were married for 63 years when she passed away in
April of 2020.Ray is survived by two of his sons, Monty, and Buddy Walls; grandsons,
Calvin, and Nathan Walls; sister Joy Lang, and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Laura, and Nathan Walls; brothers
O.C. Turman, Johnny Turman, and Rueben Walls; sister Nell Knox; and son
Dustin Walls.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Garber Christian
Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.Condolences may be made, memories shared, and services viewed live online,
