Calvin, who many folks simply called “Ray” was born in Tippo, Mississippi on December 1, 1931, to Laura and Nathan Walls. He joined the United States Air Force in 1949, retiring after 20 years of service with a rank of Master Sergeant. Following a career in the Air Force, Ray was in the car business, with numerous car lots, including the Chevrolet dealership in Garber and Hennessey, and the Jeep-Eagle dealership in Stillwater. Following retirement from the car business, Ray was an avid gardener at his home north of Garber and enjoyed his daily four-mile walks with his dogs. He took special pride, joy and love in his family and watching his grandsons grow into fine young men.

Ray married Polly Hollingshead on her family’s farm north of Lucien, Oklahoma on November 4, 1956. Together they raised three sons; Monty, Dustin, and Buddy. They were married for 63 years when she passed away in April of 2020.

Ray is survived by two of his sons, Monty, and Buddy Walls; grandsons, Calvin, and Nathan Walls; sister Joy Lang, and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Laura, and Nathan Walls; brothers O.C. Turman, Johnny Turman, and Rueben Walls; sister Nell Knox; and son Dustin Walls.
