Betty Ruth Hildebrand (nee Bay) of Blackwell, Oklahoma died Thursday
evening October 2, 2025 at Edmond Integris Hospital at the age of 88
years, five months after a short illness.
Betty was born on April 30, 1937 in Perry Oklahoma to Eugene "Gene" Bay
and Evelyn (Lampe) Bay. She was confirmed in Christ Lutheran Church
(Perry). She attended school in Sumner and in Perry, and graduated with
the class of 1955. She married Floyd Hildebrand on January 26, 1957, in
Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma. She was a member of the
Blackwell Trinity Lutheran Church. Betty operated a Merle Norman Studio
for many years in the 1980s and early 1990s, before managing the Super
Eight Motel. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the
Blackwell Tourism Board. She enjoyed playing card games with her family
and for several decades she and Floyd played contract Bridge with many
friends in the Blackwell community.
She is survived by three sons; Darren Hildebrand of Washington DC, Byron
and wife Pamn of Blackwell, and their children, Cy and Chloe; and Justin
Hildebrand and wife Keely of Creighton, Nebraska; three grandchildren
Genevieve Hildebrand, Eric Hildebrand, and Julieanna Hildebrand all of
Creighton; her beloved sister Phyllis (Bay) Bonfy of Albert Lea,
Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Hildebrand,
her parents Gene and Evelyn Bay, and her brother Wayne Bay (Edmond, OK
and Nashville TN).
Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the
Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackwell, with Rev James Bozarth
officiating.
Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma.
A Visitation is set for Tuesday, October 7, from 10:00 AM — 8:00 PM.
The
family will be greeting visitors from 6:00 PM — 8:00 PM, at the funeral
home.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Trinity Lutheran
Church ℅ Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon Ave, Blackwell, OK
