Doris attended grade school in Orlando and graduated from Perry School.
She married Ronald Friend on November 24, 1954 at the First Christian Church in
Perry, Oklahoma. To this union they were blessed with 5 precious children. Doris
and Ronnie lived in Wewoka, Oklahoma before moving back to Perry in 2003. Doris
enjoyed spending time on the farm raising cattle, riding four wheelers, and
spending time with her family. Doris was especially gifted at sewing and
quilting, often making special pieces for her family and close friends. Doris
worked hard right alongside her husband on their family farm and reaped the many
blessings of their efforts. Doris and Ronnie traveled to many special places
together and enjoyed a full and happy life at each other's side.
A piece of
Doris passed away when Ronnie unexpectedly died on August 5, 2005. We find peace
knowing that they are reunited and rejoicing together in Heaven. Doris' love for
her family was boundless, and she will be forever cherished.
