Cody Folsom, a proud United States Marine who honorably served his country with two tours in Iraq, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2025. He was a beloved member of the Perry community and a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma.

Born on March 11, 1980, Cody grew up in Perry, where he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors, family, and the simpleness of country living.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Folsom; his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Leta Faye Baetz; and his paternal grandparents, William and Helen Folsom. Cody is survived by his loving mother, Roni Folsom; his sisters, Mindy Folsom, Jessica Knox (husband Lidy), and Kassy Groom (husband Matt); his cherished nephews, Jett and Nash Groom; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cody was known for his infectious humor and his ability to make anyone feel like a friend. He found peace in nature-whether hunting, fishing, or simply feeding the cows and carrying on his father’s legacy. Cody never backed down from a challenge, and more often than not, those challenges ended in a wild story and a great memory that left everyone laughing and grateful to have been part of it.

He had a special bond with his nephews, who could always sweet-talk him into wrestling matches or imaginative hunts where Cody played the role of the animal. Despite his tough exterior, Cody’s heart was full of warmth and generosity. His spirit, strength, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Cody’s life was a testament to hard work, true grit, and a deep love for his people. He will be remembered not only for his service to his country but for the joy he brought to those around him.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry with Aaron Ferguson officiating.
