Peggy Sue (Sumler) Chase

Peggy Sue Chase, 83, went home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2025. Peggy was born to Willis and Lillian Sumler on March 24, 1941, and was raised in Jeffrey, West Virginia.
 

After high school, Peggy moved to Maryland to pursue a career with C&P Telephone Company, where she retired after 35 years. It was during this time she met the love of her life, Edwin Chase. They were married for 60 years. During this union, they had a son, Eddie Glenn Chase.

After retirement, Peggy and Edwin moved to Perry, Oklahoma, where they raised cattle. Peggy and Edwin were active members of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church family.


Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Chase; brothers, Samuel Sumler, Bobby Sumler, and Larry Pauley; and sister, Mary Ann Pauley.

Peggy leaves behind her son, Eddie Glenn Chase, her sister Kay (Doug) Clark, and a host of nieces and nephews.
 

Services for Peggy will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2025, at Trout Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Pastor Shem Durham will be officiating.

Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma.
