Barbara Brown, 76, Red Rock, passed away on Tuesday, December
29, 2015 at Green Valley Nursing Home, Perry, OK. Arrangements have been
entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. A private
graveside service will be held on December 31, 2015 at Cleghorn Cemetery in Red
Rock, OK.
Barbara was born on February 22, 1939 in Wichita, Kansas to Emerald and Dorothy
(Arnold) Todd. When she was young, Barbara and her family moved all around the
southern and western United States.
Barbara had many hobbies including sewing and embroidery. She took great pride
in her sewing projects. She also enjoyed taking care of her lawn and flower bed.
She would spend hours building up her flowers and making sure her lawn looked
amazing. Barbara made sure her house was just as beautiful inside as it was
outside. She also made sure there was food on the table every night for her
family.
Barbara was a caring individual and made sure her family and friends were taken
care of. This special trait guided her into the caregiver occupation. She worked
as a nurse’s aide for many years, helping other’s the best she possibly could.
Barbara also worked in the homes of patients, helping them with their daily
needs. She was a caring woman, who always placed other’s needs in front of her
own.
She was a great woman, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be
missed.
Barbara is survived by her four daughters, Debbie McDade and husband, Gary of
Missouri, Tammy Richardson and husband, Bill of Orlando, Oklahoma, Sherry
Hamilton of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Kathleen Schweer and husband, Rick of Perry,
Oklahoma; three brothers, Bill Todd, Richard Todd, Larry Todd; one sister,
Priscilla Todd; four grandchildren: Shauna, Cary, Mandy and Chance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emerald and Dorothy Todd, brother,
Bill Todd and husband, Burt Diamond.
Memorial contributions can be made in Barbara’s name to St. Jude’s Medical
Research in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, 203 E. Fir, Perry,
OK 73077.
