Richard Lee Rick Tautfest Jr.,
longtime resident of the Marland and Red Rock communities, passed Wednesday,
April 13, 2011 at his home. He was 54 years of age.
Rick was born February 19, 1957 in Ponca City, the son of Richard Lee Tautfest
Sr. and Margaret Louise Willerton Tautfest. He received his early education in
the Marland School.
He was married to Joyce Bennett on April 16, 1977 in Marland. Rick had worked
for Wilkins Equipment Co. in Ponca City for five years before opening Tautfest
Farm Repair out of his home, which he operated for ten years. He was a longtime
farmer and rancher in addition to his other employments.
His enjoyments included listening to rock music, farming, visiting with friends,
working with his cattle and he always had time to share a good joke.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home his parents, Richard Tautfest Sr.
and Margaret Tautfest, of rural Marland one daughter, Joy Cordova of Ponca City
two sisters, Barbara Chermack of rural Marland, and Debra Milliner of Fernley,
Nevada numerous grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death
by one daughter, Jeniece Labon his paternal grandparents, Jacob and Anna
Tautfest his maternal grandparents, William and Gertrude Willerton.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Ceres
Cemetery between Tonkawa and Perry. Arrangements are under the direction of
Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers will be Darrell Kelly, Dennis Kelly, John Turnipseed, Charlie
Goodno, Zack Williams and Larry Dooley.
