Nila Shobe, age 94, of Purcell, passed away Tuesday August 25, 2015, at the Norman Regional Hospital. Nila Mae Yost was born October 26, 1920 in Billings, OK, to William Yost and Maude (Ayers) Yost. She was raised in Billings and attended Billings Schools, graduating in 1938. Nila married the love of her life Lynden Wesley “Lynn” Shobe on June 2, 1941 in Ponca City, OK. They made their home in Billings where together they raised 3 children, Daughter Rosalyn and sons, Wesley and Bill. Nila worked hard as the wife of a farmer. She was a devoted wife and mother and worked tirelessly as a homemaker. She was very gifted with her hands, and spent countless hours crocheting and quilting. Nila was an excellent cook and prepared many favorites to the delight of her family. In 2005, she moved to Purcell to be closer to her son Bill and his family. Nila was a faithful Christian and a member of the Lighthouse Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Lynn Shobe; Her parents, William and Maude Yost; Her daughter, Rosalyn Combrink; Son, Wesley Shobe and 2 infant siblings.
Nila leaves behind: Her son, Bill Shobe and wife Lee Ann of Purcell; 9 Grandchildren, Sheilia Taggart and husband Dan of Purcell, Gregory Shobe of Purcell, Tod Shobe of Utah, Shanna Southman of Nevada, Audra Thompson and husband Alan of Wichita, KS, Darrin Shobe of Wichita, Melanie Harris and husband Mike of Edmond, OK, Desrie Good and husband Tim of Edmond and Adam Williams and wife Leska of Purcell; 18 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 28, 2015
at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is scheduled for 2:30
P.M. at the Billings Cemetery in Billings, OK. Send online condolences at
