Maxine May Kennedy of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, died Thursday morning, July 9, 2020, in the Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa at the age of 98 years.

Maxine Combrink Kennedy was born on October 24, 1921, in Billings, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Elsie (Dufek) Combrink. She grew up in Billings and graduated from Billings High School. She furthered her education by attending Hills Business College. She married Gerald Lee Burke and they were married for twenty-two years. During this marriage they were blessed with their daughter, Beverly. She worked as a secretary for several businesses including Powell-Briscoe and Kinsea Contruction Company. She later married Joe Crittenden and they settled in Oklahoma City where she began her career in insurance sales working in several states and receiving many awards, both local and national. In 1980 the couple began a seven year venture with the Larry Jones Crusade, traveling to states throughout the Midwest sharing the Lord Jesus Christ with the various communities. Her husband preceded her in death and she later married Dan Kennedy who also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Brining and husband Joe of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Joe Burke Brining of Tulsa, Anna Brining of Dallas, and Josh Brining of Garland, Texas; and five great grandchildren, Berkely, Jillian and Adeline Brining of Tulsa, and Gabriel and Benjamin Brining of Garland.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 14th in the Union Cemetery in Billings, Oklahoma, with James W. Roberts officiating.

A memorial has been established in her honor with Young Life in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma  74631.
