Funeral services for Gordon Staton, 94, of Fort Gibson, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK with Reverend Tommy Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.
Gordon was born September 18, 1916 at Braggs, OK, the son of Tom and Eunice (Garrison) Staton and died Friday, December 3, 2010 at his home in Fort Gibson. On April 7, 1938 he married Dorothy Cramer in Bakersfield, CA.
He had lived in the area since 1940 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Until retirement, he worked for Brockway Glass.
Survivors include his two sons, T. A. Staton and Myrtle of Muskogee, James Gordon Staton and Vickie of Fort Gibson; two daughters, Louise Eubanks and Estel of Fort Gibson, Geneva Eaton and John of Muskogee; five sisters, Jenny Oaks of CA, Virgie Elem of AR, Beatrice Lubukka, Pauline Maki and Betty Foster, all of CA; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy in 1992; son, W. G. Staton; daughters, Paulett and Frances Wheeler; two brothers, Edward Staton and Jerry Cooper.
