Lowell Estes Irving, beloved Mother and Granny departed this life on March 6, 2011 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A lifelong resident of Braggs, OK, she was affectionately known as Granny not only to her own grandchildren, but to all children attracted to her kind and loving heart.
Preceded in death by her husband, Grover Irving; son, Kenneth Irving; and daughter, Betty Champaign;
Lowell is survived by four daughters and three sons, including Ruth Harris and Nelda Shoemake of Tulsa, Janice Barker and husband, Bob, of Stillwater, Susan Gilliland and husband, Marvin, of Fort Gibson, Sam Irving and wife, Willimay, of Braggs, David Irving and wife, Betty, of Braggs, Wesley Irving and wife, Sharon, of Muldrow. In addition she is survived by twenty-eight grandchildren.
As head of a family of five generations several times over, she often forgot just how many there were because she always included every child that visited her home.
A family celebration of Lowell’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Fort Gibson, OK. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Ken Harris, Tom Harris, Gary Isbell, Tony Irving, Derek Irving and D. J. Gray. Honorary pallbearers will include grandsons: Mike Harris, Mike Shoemake, Ray Isbell, Clint Hasler, Mark Gilliland, Mike Gilliland, Edmond Jones and Roy Irving.
Burial will be in South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the South Bethel Cemetery Fund.
