Inez L. (Prater) Roberts

April 23, 1925 ~ August 12, 2006

Inez L. Roberts, 81, of Oktaha, passed away August 12, 2006 at Grace Living Center in Muskogee. She was born April 23, 1925 to Jay and Minnie (Ashley) Prater in Pierce, Oklahoma. Inez was one of twelve children. Inez attended school in Hitchita, Oklahoma.

She married Orval Roberts on June 29, 1942. As time passed they were blessed with four children. Inez became a homemaker who cared deeply for her children. She loved cooking for them and in her spare time she enjoyed reading, caring for her houseplants and working in her garden as well as canning and freezing the vegetables. She worked along side Ovral in their Custom Hay Baling business until his death in 2004.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband Orval of 62 years, daughter Charlene Lemley, both parents, six brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Rick and Cindy Roberts, Jimmy and Linda Roberts, and Randy and Angie Roberts all of Oktaha; son-in-law, Jim Lemley of Muskogee; eight grandchildren, Jeff and Loretta Lemley, Michelle Collins, Rodney and Lacie Roberts, Jeremy and Patty Roberts, Stephanie Kramer, Shawnna Pinner, Shannon and Carter Raley, and Kristen Roberts, six great grandchildren; sister Morene Smith and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Marion Graves officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum in Muskogee. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Lemley, Rodney Roberts, Jeremy Roberts and Carter Raley. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Martin. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
