Memorial services for Annie Owens will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2011 at Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma with Roger Folsom, officiating.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a loyal friend to many.
She was employed at Funstens Nut Company, Basolo Auto Parts, Linda’s Lunches and Cherokee Jerkee. Annie was a member of the Muskogee Twirlers Square Dance Club, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4977 Auxiliary and Mountain View Extension Homemakers.
Annie will be remembered by many neighbors, relatives and friends by the kind deeds she did for others.
Annie Owens, 77 of Muskogee, Oklahoma was born on May 24, 1934 in Texanna, Oklahoma to Andy and Maggie (Leach) Leader.
She married Joe Owens, November 23, 1954.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe of 46 years; her parents; brother, Harrell Leader; sisters, Polly Robinson and Betty Jo Leader; son-in-law, Scott Rouse.
Those left to cherish her memories are three daughters; Judy Minnick and husband Tim of Checotah, Oklahoma; Ticia Owens and Dave Skaggs of St. Louis, Missouri; Linda Spears and husband Mel of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Christi Bolinger and husband Clark of Jackson, Missouri; three grandsons, Robert Walker and wife Gina of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Marc Cook and wife Brandi of Kansas City, Missouri; Chris Rouse and wife Cheramy of Muskogee, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Cody and Tanner Walker; Hannah and Cameron Bolinger; Brodi and Braden Cook; Addison Blankenship, and Ava Ann Rouse; one special niece, Peggy Martin and husband Mike of Muskogee, Oklahoma and her three daughters, Angel, Brandy and Harlo.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Yadon, Rocky Battenfield, Brandon Royse, Ted Stevens, Jimbo Folsom and Logan Stinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Coleman Nelson, Lyman Leader and Maxie Hadley.
Annie will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory.
Family may receive guests in the home of Robert and Gina Walker.
