Richard Lee McLaughlin, 49, passed away Sunday January 22, 2006 in Muskogee. He was born to Richard McLaughlin and Charlene Gene (Martin) McLaughlin in Tulsa, OK on September 20, 1956. He grew up in Tulsa and Warner where he graduated from Warner High School and Connors State College. Richard went from Connors to graduate from the University of Tulsa and from TU Law School. He held a doctorate in law. Richard began a practice in Wagoner while living in Muskogee. He loved football, fishing, golf, cards and music. He also loved cooking and his specialty was prime rib. As a young man Richard enjoyed hunting birds with his father.
Richard is survived by his wife Ann of Muskogee, mother Charlene of Muskogee, sister Kathy Nail of Muskogee, brother Marty and wife Christy of Stillwater, nephew Doug and wife Nicole of Muskogee, nieces, Sarah and husband Chris Dakin of Tulsa, Kelsie McLaughlin and Korey McLaughlin of Stillwater, one great niece, Taylor Nail of Muskogee, one great nephew, Jake Nail of Muskogee, two beloved dogs, Kate and Cece and many friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Memorial Park Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Bill Hayworth, Judge Darrell Shepherd, Kelly Berk, Johnny Cannon, Bryan Sickley, Robert Cooper, Brent Smith, Kenneth Hicks and Charley Raye.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
