Dottie Jean King, 61, longtime Muskogee resident died Thursday evening at Muskogee Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Dottie was born to Harmon Hulsey and Paula Jean Madden on June 13, 1947 in LeQuire, OK. She grew up in many different areas before the family settled in Muskogee where she attended school.
Dottie was previously employed by the Goodwill Industries in Muskogee. For the last few years she had been active in her faith at Eastside Church of Christ.
Dottie was preceded in death by her grandparents and special dad Johnathan Madden, father Harmon Hulsey, special friend Gene Craig and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her mother Paula Jean Madden of the home; daughter Rhonda King of Muskogee; son Kevin Kolb of Missouri; daughters Sandra Kay of Tulsa and Shelly Mead of Norman; sisters Tammy Jones and husband Darryl, Charlene Duncan and husband Spencer of Collinsville, Patricia Thompson of Tulsa and Vindy Taylor of Georgia; brothers Don Husley and Zack Anderson both of Broken Arrow; grandchildren D.A. Meeks, Casey King and several others; great grandchildren Michael Hollis and Nevaeh Meeks; aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday January 12, 2009 at Eastside Church of Christ with Mr. Benny Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Zack Anderson, Don Hulsey, Spencer Duncan, Tyler Duncan, Kenny Clark and Darryl Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are D.A. Meeks and Michael Hollis.
Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
