DeNola Alyne James, aka "Dee", 89, of Muskogee, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011. She was born on December 12, 1921 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Luther and Agnes Marshall.
She married Arnold C. James in Oklahoma City in 1943.
DeNola was a housewife and also a retired realtor. She was a longtime member of East Point Christian Church; more recently attending Bethany Presbyterian Church. DeNola loved gardening and enjoyed playing bridge along with being involved in various clubs and organizations such as DAR, Phi Sigma Alpha, Knife & Fork treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arnold C. James.
DeNola is survived by her daughter, Ann Lewallen of Flower Mound, TX; son, Steve James and wife LeaAnn Watson of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren; Shelby Wilson and Tanner Wilson of Flower Mound, TX, Joshua James of Tulsa, Adam and Roxann James of Tahlequah, OK; great grandchildren, Alexander and Logan James; brother, Jerry Marshall and wife Beth of Peekskill, NY; sisters, Mauvene Baker of El Paso, TX, Marietta Stone and husband Johnny of Edmond, OK.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Thea McKee officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 North York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
