Orval Leo Holmes, 88, of Vian, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020. He was born in Gid, Arkansas on June 22, 1932.
Orval never met a stranger, and he didn't forget anyone he met. His loves in life were his wife, Gayle, family and friends. Orval was a great fisherman and an even better storyteller.
He and Gayle have a combined total of 4 children, (2 deceased) Vicky and Cricket; 12 grandchildren, (1 deceased) Jeanie Marie; 36 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was especially close to his granddaughters, Jeanie and Mandy and their children, Elizabeth, Taylor, Bubba, Tristan and Abigayle.
Two of his favorite fishing partners were his dog, Buster and Evan "Bubba" Roberts, who was always considered one of the grandkids. Orval's stories about things he'd done and people he'd met will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and David Clayton, for
all their help during this difficult time.
