Cassville….Nancy Marshall Graves, age 80, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Mrs. Graves, daughter of Ben and Grace (Rousek) Marshall, was born on May 6, 1930, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Central High School and Draughon Business School, both of Muskogee. During high school Nancy was a cheerleader and involved in various clubs.

On September 3, 1949 she was united in marriage to John C. Graves of Muskogee, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1991.

During her adult life, Nancy was a private pilot and a harpist, and was teaching herself to play piano. She belonged to Venture Club, Women’s Pilot Association and retired from Goodyear Tire where she had been the Southwest Regional Cashier for 22 years. She and her husband loved to fly to Cassville and fish at Roaring River. In 1975 they moved to Cassville and owned and operated JoNan’s Smoke House, where they also provided music for their customers. Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cassville and was member of the Sarah II Sunday school class. At the age of 70, she started traveling on mission trips. She traveled to London, Vietnam, Guadalajara, Mexico and Guatemala. She loved flowers, fly fishing, and flying.

Survivors include two brothers; Monty Marshall of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Alan Marshall of Albuquerque, New Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and her adopted family, Mike and Cherry Bailey of Cassville, and their children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be held at White Funeral Home in Cassville on Friday, September 10th, at 10:00 with Pastor James Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th at White Funeral Home. Committal will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 10 with Laura Marshall Clark officiating.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Mission Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home, Cassville, Missouri.
