Lowell Brant Staggs, 77, Haskell, OK, passed from this life Sunday, October 26, 2008. Brant was born in Manitou, OK on November 26, 1930, to James Dawson and Mopaul (Hanes) Staggs.
Brant graduated from Lang High School and then attended Abilene Christian College before joining the Air Force. He was married to Dorothy June (Jones) Staggs, in Roosevelt, on February 18, 1950. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother and special friend.
Brant farmed for most of his life. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies, going to the lake, and spending time with his family. Brant loved the Lord and was a proud member of the Central Church of Christ. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Brant was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mopaul Staggs, infant daughter Vicki Denise Staggs, brother Dan Staggs, and grandson Michael Ryan Bair.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy daughter Karla and John Winters, son Scott Staggs, sister Sharon and Mike Sofia, grandchildren Ashley and Mark Bowden, Lesley Bair, Dr. Johnny and Tiffany Winters, Landyn Staggs, Jessica Green, Jody Green and Janae Green, great-grandchildren, Morgan, Lauren, Alexandra, Trever, Alli, Ian, Mackenzie, and Aiden.
Funeral services for Brant will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, Haskell. Burial will follow in the Haskell Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dowdy Funeral Home in Haskell.
