Emma Catherine "KK" Mahan, 62, passed away in her home in Muskogee Saturday, September 17, 2005. She was born October 30, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Benache and Emma (Berryhill) Barnett.
Mrs. Mahan graduated from Haskell High School in 1960, and on July 14, 1961 she married Johnny "Buddy" Mahan. They began their lives together and were blessed with three children. Mrs. Mahan loved children as she was a child daycare provider.
Mrs. Mahan was a member of Porter Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Buddy Mahan of the home, three sons and their wives; DeWayne and Liz Mahan of Chickasha, OK; Brian and Mandy Mahan of Maud, Texas; and Michael and Karen Mahan of Muskogee; ten grandchildren, Corey and Hannah Mahan of Chickasha, OK; Whittney, Kimberly, and Daniel Mahan, and Amanda and J. T. Stanley of Maud, TX; Seth, Chloe, and Lexi Mahan of Muskogee; one brother, Ben Barnett, Jr. of Haskell; four sisters, Dorothy Capell of Casa Grande, AZ; Wanda Robinson of Muskogee; Marti McClure of Oklahoma City, and Betty Hamilton of Clarksville, TN; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Billy Barnett, and sister Virginia Adams. The family is honoring Mrs. Mahan's wishes by having a graveside service Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Haskell City Cemetery with Steve Schinnerer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Family Child Care In Action c/o Christina Kamp, 1906 Quail Run, Muskogee, OK 74403.
