Lois June (Rhone) Riddle

Lois June (Rhone) Riddle
August 8, 1936 ~ July 30, 2020

On Thursday, July 30, 2020, Lois June Riddle, loving mother of four children, passed away at age 83.

On August 8, 1936, in Haskell, Oklahoma, Lois was the last of 10 children born to Luada (Robbins) and William Rhone, Sr. Her family, who had migrated from Texas to Oklahoma, settled in Muskogee when Lois was a child. She attended Muskogee public schools graduating from the historic Manual Training High School in 1955. She moved to California shortly after graduating and married Wattie Riddle, Jr. on March 13, 1961. Four children were born to this union.

Lois was baptized at an early age and remained a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She truly loved being a child of God and daily demonstrated that love could truly conquer all life's challenges. Lois had a passion for nurturing not only her children but also her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the many other people touched by her gentle words, encouragement, and guidance. Blessed with a winning personality and an infectious smile, she immediately connected with people. Her compassionate and caring spirit supported her role as a peacemaker and mediator.

Lois worked at Muskogee Regional Medical Center and enjoyed traveling by train.

Shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, Lois, surrounded by her family, succumbed to this earthly life and went to rest until she is reunited with the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, James Riddle of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three daughters, Kimberly Strong of Columbia, Maryland, Helen Riddle of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and April Riddle-Brown of Jenks, Oklahoma; a sister, Audrey Anderson of Buffalo, New York; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Sasha, Michaela, Kevin, Valencia, Vernon, Gabrielle, and James; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Elijah, Adrian, Andrew and Shamar; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, a closed casket Celebration of Life will be held at Westside Church of Christ at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 10. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of House of Winn.
