James Robert "Bob" Myers, 73, a lifetime resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, with his family at his side. He was born December 24, 1949 in Muskogee to John and Von Myers. He attended public schools and graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the class of 1968. He furthered his education at Northeastern State University where he graduated in 1973 with his bachelor's degree.
Bob married his best friend and the love of his life, Debbie, on September 15, 1972 in Muskogee. They shared more than 50 years of marriage and making wonderful memories that will always be cherished.
He worked for Gunnebo Johnson Corporation for many years and was the vice president of sales and marketing when he retired in 2012.
Bob was an active and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and was the president and director of AWRF from 1993-1999.
He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and volunteering at the food pantry. Most important was spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play sports.
He was preceded in death by his father, John William Myers.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Debbie of the home; daughter, Alicia Myers, Megan Brock and husband Clint; grandchildren, Adrian Stewart, Brody Brock and Piper Brock; mother, Von Myers; mother-in-law, Mildred Eubanks, all of Muskogee, sisters-in-law, Karen White of Tulsa, Donna Nash and husband Scott of Claremore, Jenette Gordon of Muskogee; brother-in-law, Curtis Burkhead of Muskogee; niece, Miesha Sloat and husband Josh of Boulder, CO; nephews, Chris White of Tulsa and Cole Gordon of Muskogee; along with other family members and many friends.
Bob's life will be celebrated at 10AM, Friday, February 17, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church with Chaplain Cindy Culver officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Clint Brock, Brody Brock, Carlos Sandoval, Ron Allen, Van Odom and Ricky McQueen serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Horizons Sunday School Class and Gunnebo Johnson Team.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made to First United Methodist Church food pantry or Meal On Wings at Grace Episcopal Church.
