Mary Louise (Goodner) Graves
January 23, 1929 ~ September 21, 2015

Mary Louise Graves, age 86, passed away September 21, 2015. She was born January 23, 1929 in Seminole, OK. She was one of ten children born to William Wesley Goodner and Mamie Vera (Ritchie) Goodner. She married Johnnie James Graves on May 26, 1947 in Bentonville, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Graves; brothers, William, L.D., Tom and infant brother Gary; sisters, Jenny Hodgens and Emma Murray.

Those left to cherish her memory are her eight children, Mary Miller and husband Terry of Muskogee, OK, Sharon Pipkins and husband Tom of Muskogee, OK, Maggie Warren and husband David of Verdigris, OK, Dolly Olzawski and husband Rick of Stigler, OK, Helen Graves of Muskogee, OK, George Graves and wife Debbie of St. Francisville, LA, Shelley Sierka of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis Graves of Tulsa, OK; 16 grandchildren, Ronnie Thomas, Cristi Edwards, Ryan Miller, Cheryl Daniels, Mary Beth Gard, Sarah Birdsall, Amy Lay, Emily Dean, Craig Olzawski, Olivia Johnson, Sophie Graves, Katy Henshaw, John Graves, Angela Graves, Nick Sierka and Jake Sierka; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson. She is also survived by three sisters, Shirley Warren of Oklahoma City, Glenda Goodner of Seminole and Alma Frederick of New York.

Mary was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker who loved the family gatherings. Mary was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She was always ready for the competition of a scrabble game and was a whiz at crossword puzzles. She won many trophies in the senior statewide and regional spelling bee contests. She was loved and will be missed by all.

A special thank you to Eastgate Village Healthcare Center and Hometown Hospice for all their care and support. Donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

A private family service will be held at Greenhill Cemetery.
