Upon retirement, he settled into his long-awaited home on the lake.

John loved Bluegrass Music and for over 30 years traveled to festivals and shows. His Bluegrass friends became a second family who shared his passion for the traditions of Bluegrass Music. He was quite the salesman and trader of instruments and would often be seen jamming with his Bluegrass friends and family into the early morning hours during shows and festivals.

John was honored to be elected as Chamber President for several terms, was the President of the Muskogee Jaycees, and an active member of the ONG Retirement Organization. Known as a man of deep family values, he stayed connected to his family by hosting annual family reunions and Christmas parties. John loved to watch golf, softball, football and any activities that his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews participated in.

Father, uncle, cousin, and friend, we will miss you, but take comfort that we will be reunited once again. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M.
