Wilbur Byron Edwards II, 57, of Muskogee passed away, Wednesday April 1, 2009. He was born on April 24, 1951 in Muskogee, OK to Wilbur and Mildred Edwards. He was raised on their dairy farm west of Muskogee. He grew up a farm boy helping his parents in the fields, working cattle, and raising farm animals for which he won many ribbons at state fair competitions. Byron graduated High School in Haskell, OK, attended college at Oklahoma State University and graduated from Northeastern State University. He was a long time employee of the Fansteel Corp. In his spare time he could be found in his shop, on the lake, or spending time with family. Byron was a kind hearted man who was always there for his parents, family, friends, and neighbors.
Byron is preceded in death by his parents and sister Rosemary. He is survived by his daughter Amy Brand and her husband Wade of Parker, CO. His son Matt Edwards and his wife Tara of Owasso, OK. The special person in his life Ronda Morgan and her daughter Jamie Allenbaugh, both of Muskogee, OK. The mother of his children Becky Edwards of Muskogee, OK. Three grand-daughters Cali Edwards, Lauren and Avery Brand. Two sisters, Jo Ann and Dempsy Bonner of Tulsa, OK and Janie and Jon Day of Coweta, OK. A niece, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind many close friends and neighbors that meant so much to him.
Funeral services for Byron Edwards will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 at Bradley Belltower Chapel with Monty Bagget officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery with Jerry Brinlee, Bob Gerdes, Ronnie Lacrone, Cliff Lacrone, Gabe Lacrone, Steve Lowrimore and Tuffy Sallee serving as Pallbearers.
