Tony Dale Compassi, a life-long resident of Muskogee, passed away April 20, 2023 in Tulsa, surrounded by family. Tony was born May 9, 1949 to Albert and Daisy Compassi. He is survived by sister Pat Gatti of Tulsa, niece Teresa Gatti of Tulsa, Nephew Mike and wife Marie Gatti of Laurel MD and great nephews, Vincent and Alex Gatti of Laurel, MD. He is also survived by cousins, extended family and many friends in Muskogee, as well as special family friend Cheryl "Rats" Cato.
Tony was predeceased by his parents and sister, Brenda Compassi.
After high school, Tony served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, he worked for the Katy Railroad from which he retired.
Growing up, Tony had several nicknames, Feet Boy, Skull and TC, to name a few. He enjoyed playing baseball, boating, cycling, racing on TV, OU and Dallas Cowboy football, slots at the casino and later in life, gardening. In those growing up years, if you saw Tony, you saw Duke, his constant canine companion. Later in life Spud, a gift from Stanley and Jack Brooks, became his canine BFF.
Tony was quiet and introspective and being close in age to two sisters, growing up he often found himself surrounded by groups of giggling teenage girls at which times he was known to "disappear into thin air".
Tony will be interred at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee alongside his parents and sister. In keeping with Tony's wishes, there will be no funeral service, rather a celebration of life on June 10th 2:00 - 4:00 at Mahylon's Barbeque, 3301 Chandler Rd, Muskogee, OK.
"Dear Mamaw, Papaw and Auntie Brenda, please wrap Uncle
Tony in your arms
and carry him the rest of the way ."
Spoken by Teresa at Tony's bedside in his last hours.
