Ruby Mae (Smith) Compassi
May 27, 1924 ~ July 27, 2008

On July 27, 2008, God added one more Angel to Heaven. Ruby Mae (Smith) Compassi passed from this life at Muskogee, Oklahoma. Ruby was born May 27, 1924 to Earnest and Monsie Smith in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Ruby attended school in Wagoner and it was there that she met and fell in love with a Taystee Bread Route Salesman, Enrico Compassi whom she married on October 15, 1943. Ruby and Enrico were the proprietors of the 7th Street Grocery Store in Muskogee and were devout members of Assumption Catholic Church. Ruby enjoyed gardening and picking pecans and wild blackberries.

Enrico and Ruby were blessed with two sons, Richard Domenico Compassi and Joseph Enrico Compassi; two daughters, Lena Marion Compassi Welch and Rosanna Marie Compassi Mose.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband; parents, son, Joseph; granddaughter, Julie Marie Welch; six brothers and her only sister. Surviving are one son, Richard Compassi of Muskogee; two daughters, Lena Welch of Oklahoma City and Rosanna and her husband, John Mose, Jr., of Muskogee; three grandsons, Steven Ray Mose, Andrew Wesley Mose and John Mose, III and his wife, Kerry; one granddaughter, Mandy Lee and Eric Knittel; great-grandchildren, John Dee Mose, IV, Katherin Grace Knittel, Macy Elizabeth Mose, Luke Ross Knittel; one brother, Robert Nelson Smith of Wagoner, and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Foster-Petering Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Bryan Brooks officiating. Pallbearers will be Steven Mose, Tony Compassi, Mike Compassi, Richard Morgan, Dennis Morgan and Chriss Quinn. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home
