Deborah Ann West

Deborah Ann West
November 29, 1961 ~ August 29, 2024

Deborah Ann West, age 62, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Marietta, Georgia on November 29, 1961, to Francis Percy and Betty Lorena (Sluder) Vautrot, Deborah lived a life marked by service, dedication, and warmth.

Deborah attended Newnan High School in Georgia and graduated from Sunset High School in Louisiana. Her commitment to service extended to her time in the United States Army, where she proudly served and met her future husband, Robert Edward “Bob” Collier. Deborah and Bob were married twice, first from 1984 until 1991 and then again on July 17, 2009, after rekindling their relationship.

In her professional life, Deborah co-owned West Block Company in Ellijay, Georgia, working in concrete, and later operated A Healing Touch, a massage therapy practice. Her dedication to helping others led her to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oral Roberts University in 2014. She worked as a nurse at the Muskogee VA Hospital, retiring in 2020.

Deborah was an active member of Shepherd Chapel in Gravette, Arkansas. She was known for her love of animals, her caring nature towards Bob, and her beautiful, sassy personality. Her great sense of humor and wonderful laugh made her a cherished friend and family member. Deborah’s family and friends will remember her as one of a kind—a loving, vibrant, and unique individual who touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.

Deborah is survived by her devoted husband: Bob, of the home;

her children:
Amber West-Johnston and husband Justin of Ellijay, Georgia,
Sam Collier and wife Christy of Bolivar, Missouri,
Heather Howard and husband Josh of Ellijay, Georgia;
