Donald Dean “Don” Wells was born October 21, 1938 in Okmulgee, OK, the son of Julius and Beatrice (Merritt) Wells. He passed from this life on Thursday, May 29, 2025 in Tulsa at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 8 days.
Don graduated from Okmulgee High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. He was retired from the Bonding Department at Spirit Aero, having worked previously for Boeing and McDonnell/Douglas. In his spare time he enjoyed skeet shooting, golfing, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by both his parents; brothers, Jackie Wells, Paul David Cook, and Raymond Cook, and sisters, Carolyn Holder, Peggy Fleming, Bonnie Shotwell and Ella Mae York.
His survivors include his wife, Carol Wells of Owasso; son, Michael Dean Wells and wife, Patricia of San Antonio, TX; sister, Sharon Clarkson and husband, Billy of Okmulgee, OK; grandsons Matthew Long and wife, Carol of Duncanville, TX, and Christopher Long and wife, Christian of Fayetteville, AR; great grandchildren, Lizzy, Jonny and Rosemary Long of Duncanville, TX, and Sage and Iris Long of Fayetteville, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements to be announced at a later date, and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to Wycliffe Bible Translators, P.O. Box 628200, Orlando, Florida 32862-8200 (preference for the ministry of Matt and Carol Long, Account #210798), or to a charity of your choice.
