Ruby Jeanne Treadway, 94, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven's gate on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. She was born on April 17, 1926 to Robert Oda Stockton and Effie Glen (Bennett) Stockton in Cassville, Missouri.
Jeanne grew up during the Great Depression, the daughter of a sharecropper. She was the second youngest of 10 children. At the age of 18, she married a soldier and moved to western New York. After nine years, she left New York with two children and returned to dairy farming in southeast Muskogee. She eventually took a job with a commercial finance company, where she met Jim. They married July 1, 1967, they embarked on a 54-year journey together.
Jeanne spent most of her life in the banking industry. She loved to cook for her family, especially for her grandkids. She cherished Christmas time with her kids and grandkids. She was a long-time member of Business Professional Women of Oklahoma and was the first woman Vice President of a bank in the state of Oklahoma.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Effie Stockton; siblings, Orville, Don, Doyle, Carl, Hazel, Cleo, June, Bobby, and Tony.
She is survived by her husband Jim Treadway, daughter Eileen Pitts, son Jeff Pitts (Cathy), sister-in-law Virginia Stockton, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration on Jeanne's life will be 10:00am Friday, July 24th, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Vance Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Free Kennedy, Billy Raynor, Ryan Pitts, Matt Trammell, Dustin Raynor, and Tobias Lindell serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darin Stockton, Daryl Stockton, Wayne Stockton, Ted Maplethorpe, Greg Russell, and Kenny Raynor.
