August 15, 1969 ~ August 27, 2024

Jeffery Wayne Tate, 55-year-old Pryor resident, passed away Tuesday evening August 27, 2024, at his rural home. He was born on August 15, 1969, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Charles Glen Tate and Rebecca Ann (Snow)Tate. Jeffery had attended high school in Marshall, Texas, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and Who’s Who among high school students. Jeffery attended St. Gregory’s and Rogers State College, completing his bachelor's degree. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from April 1990 until March of 1996, serving on the USS GATO Nuclear Submarine and receiving the Silver Dolphin commendation, was a testament to his dedication, knowledge and skill.

Jeffery transitioned to a civilian role and worked for Unicorp, where he applied his mechanical expertise and problem-solving abilities. His passion for tinkering was not just in his professional life, but as well in his personal life. He had a true passion for anything that was mechanical. Above all else, Jeffery cherished his family. He was a devoted family man who took great pride in the accomplishments and happiness of his loved ones. His guidance and support were unwavering, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Patricia (Tate) Barry, and his grandparents.

The surviving family includes his parents, Charles and Becky Tate of Ochelata, two sons, Dallas and wife Katryn Tate of Pryor, Barry and wife Saidee Tate of Chouteau, his brother Bryan Tate and wife Heather of Tulsa, grandchildren, Braxton Tate, Bella Tate, Rooklyn Tate, JC Tate, Charlie Tate, Jeffery Tate, Haven Tate, Dylan Stevens and numerous other relatives.

The celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Northstar Church in Pryor. Online condolences may be made at www.stephens-key.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in care of the Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care of Pryor. “Family owned and operated.”
