James Norton was born on November 12, 1942, in Hawthorne, California, and passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at 5:59 p.m. He was 83 years old.
James married the love of his life, Joan, on July 31, 1963. Together they shared 62 years of marriage built on love, dedication, and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Norton, who both passed tragically at the age of 49; his wife, Joan Norton; and his daughter, Tammy Sutton.
James faithfully served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964 aboard the USS Hull destroyer. His work ethic and drive carried into civilian life, where he built a long and successful career with Reda/Schlumberger. His job took him across 53 countries, and he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and create a life he was proud of.
He is survived by his daughter Teresa Griffith and his grandchildren Billy Griffith, Aaron King, Tara King, Treasure Magana, Chris King, and Josh King. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
James was known for his dedication, his kindness, and the quiet strength with which he supported those around him. He was loved by many, and his presence made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by all.
