Sherman Jones, 82, died Monday, December 13, 2010 in Muskogee. He was born November 27, 1928 to Leroy and Maggie Bouvinett Jones in Muskogee where he grew up and attended Muskogee Public Schools.
He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Sherman was faithful to his church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Jones on December 12, 2010; sons, Michael Lee Jones and Alvin Eugene Jones; brother, Simon Jones and sister, Lorene Billingsly.
Sherman is survived by one son, Clayton Jones and his wife, Dee, of Muskogee; four grandsons, Jerimiah Jones, Steven Frazee, Nicholas Frazee and his wife, Jennifer, Zachary Frazee and his wife, Jennifer, all of Muskogee; six granddaughters, Jennifer Jones and Elva Joy Jones both of Muskogee, Jessica Jones of Checotah, Cedar Jones and Crystal Jones both of Sulphur and Mariah Jones of Las Vegas, NV, seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin Jones and his wife, Bama, and Melva Jones and his wife Delphine, all of Gore and Thomas Jones and his wife, Velma Jean of Tucson, AZ and one sister and her husband, Dora Lee and Carl Webb of Edmond.
Funeral services for Sherman and his wife, Marie, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Fosters’ Ivory Chapel. Interment will follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Frazee, Jerimiah Jones, Nicholas Frazee, Zachary Frazee and Shane Burk.
