Funeral services for Lowell D. “Jerry” Jarrard, 82, of Muskogee, OK, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at New Hope Assembly of God with Reverend John Overton and Reverend Monte Humphrey officiating. Pallbearers will be Tony Dunlap, Gene Haddock, Tommy Hobbs, David Collier, Buddy Johnson, and Jerry Murr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Florence, Reverend Jack Hill, Reverend Monroe Palmer, Bill Jarrard, Mike Adams (New Hope), and Horace Lemley.
Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.
Jerry was born February 29, 1932 at Muskogee, OK, the son of Herbert and Josie (Burgess) Jarrard and died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Wagoner. On September 2, 1955 he married Katherine Ward in Muskogee. Jerry served his country in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the New Hope Assembly of God, and C.M.A. (Christian Motorcycle Association). Prior to retirement, Jerry worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Survivors include his wife, Kay of the home; son, Steve Jarrard and wife, Angela, of Lakemont, GA; daughter, Deana Kay Heard and husband, DeWayne of Okmulgee; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Billy Wayne Jarrard and wife, Lottie, of Muskogee. He was preceded in death by his son, David Jarrard; and grandson, Johnathan.
