David Ross Ervin passed away, early Thursday, December 16, 2010, just eleven days before his 63rd birthday. He was born in Muskogee, December 27, 1947 to Roy Glenn & Mary Belle (Ross) Ervin.
At the age of 18, David enlisted in the United States Navy. After serving four years, including deployment in Viet Nam, he was released from active duty and transferred to Naval Reserve. He worked several jobs throughout including Soil Conservation of Muskogee and Sooner Bowl. He enjoyed bowling, wood working, fishing, watching sporting events especially NASCAR. David enjoyed life, he loved his family and gatherings at the old home place. He loved his steady companion, his dog, Jet.
David is survived by his wife, Helma of the home; his three daughters, Mary Calvert & husband, Brandan of Muskogee; Robyn Ervin of Muskogee, and Paula Spoo & husband, Deron of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Seth Spoo, Caleb Spoo, Kira Spoo, Tyler Ervin, and Aidan Calvert; his brother & sister-in-law, Ronald & Cheryl Ervin of Muskogee; nephew, Ronald Ervin, Jr.; niece, Trisha Young & husband, Nick, and their two children, Rory and Parrish, all of Muskogee, and numerous friends and other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, David Glenn Ervin, and his brother, Roy Glenn, Jr.
A celebration of the life of David Ross Ervin will be held at 10:30, Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel with his son-in-law, Pastor Deron Spoo officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery with an honor guard provided by American Legion Post #15. Serving as pallbearers are Brandan Calvert, Aidan Calvert, Robert Allen, Frank Maloney, Anthony Rozelle, and Travis Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Bruce, Wayne and Larry Fulton.
The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral Service of Muskogee with the arrangements.
