Hollis R. Cox, age 67, of MWC, born Feb. 14, 1919 in Carson OK. and passed away June 16, 1986 in MWC. Hollis grew up on a farm in Hughes County in Lamar OK. He was in college in Ada OK. when war broke out and he was called to serve in the 45th division. Soon after that , he went into the Air Force and became a navigator bombardier. He flew 57 missions over Korea and was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross. He spent 23 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Major in 1963.
Hollis was also a real estate broker and an independent fee appraiser. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Vernon.
Survivors are his wife, Molinda of the home; a son, Hollis of Baton Rouge LA; a daughter, Linda Gay Coleman of MWC; 5 grandchildren, Lindy, Hollis, Utah, Christi, Christopher, and Lauren; and a sister, Talula Pruitt of Mabank, TX.
Services are 10 am Thursday , June 19, at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment at the Ft Gibson National Cemetery .
