June 7, 1943 ~ June 22, 2025

Doris "Elaine" Cowen, 82, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Pryor. She was born on June 7, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Zachariah William Moore and Eva Mae (Miller) Moore.

Elaine dedicated her life to her family and home, embracing her role as a homemaker with grace and love. On March 29, 1963, she married the love of her life, Robert “Duane” Cowen, in Cleveland, Oklahoma, and together they built a life full of cherished memories. Elaine had a passion for golf and loved traveling to new places. She was an exceptional cook and a devoted NBA fan, faithfully recording every Oklahoma City Thunder game. Her faith was a guiding force in her life—she was a long-time member of Big Cabin Christian Church, where she enjoyed singing and serving her church family. Elaine will be remembered for her strong faith, her warm heart, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Duane Cowen; her children, Duane Cowen and wife Candy of Navarre Beach, Florida, John Cowen of Pryor, Oklahoma, and Dianna Williams and husband Bob of Stonewall, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Zachariah and Eva Moore, and her siblings: Phyllis Roe, Anna Milligan, Paul Moore, Lois Gilkey, and Wilma Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Big Cabin Christian Church in Big Cabin, Oklahoma, with Pastor Aaron Hutchcraft officiating.

Burial will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Bryan Pogue, Jake Williams, Brycen Cowen, Madlin Cowen, Tyler Cowen, Taegus Pogue, and Chase Cowen.
