Mr. Jerry Lee Shrum, in his 71st season of life, transitioned from life to eternity, with his loving family near his side, on Friday morning, February 22, 2013 from Warner, Oklahoma.
A lifelong resident of Porum, Oklahoma, Mr. Shrum was born on December 4, 1941, the son of Jess Lee and Rosa Mae [Corbell] Shrum, Sr. He attended Ross School and loved the country life. He was a Rancher, where he raised Jersey Cows, loved tending to Mules and Wagons and always mowed hay in the summer.
He used to operate the Vickers Service Station in Porum for many years and worked all of his life. He always kept an old milk cow around with the Jerseys he raised. He also worked as a truck driver, but farming was his love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Arlie Shrum and Doyle Shrum and 3 sisters, Bernice Toney, Lorene Harrison and Nadine Shrum.

He leaves to lament his death, while yet cherishing his memory; his sons, Chris Shrum [Deborah] and Keith Shrum [Judy], all of Porum, OK; his daughters, Tammy Lindsey [Clay], Webbers Falls, OK and Jerri Susie White [Ronnie], Braggs, OK; his brothers, Donald Shrum [Lois], Warner, OK, Joe Shrum [Delores], Antlers, OK and Jess Shrum, Jr. [Elizabeth], Sacramento, CA; his sisters, June Penwell and Cora Mackey, both of Muskogee; his grandchildren, Julana Shrum, Sefton Shrum, Jadrea Shrum, Brodey Whtie, Allen Gorby and Savanah Gorby; along with other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Graveside Ceremony will be shared on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00
A.M. in the Fields Cemetery at Porum, OK. Pastor Wayne Lindsey, with
Heavenly Hope Church of Porum, will officiate. Burial will follow the
services. You may visit Mr. Shrum, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the
Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee on Sunday from 2:00 PM
