Cleophus Harris, 57, of Muskogee Oklahoma was the oldest child born to William and Cosie Hill Harris. He received his early education at Dunbar Elementary and he went on to graduate from Manual Training High School in the class of 1967. He furthered his education by attending Okmulgee Tech, where he graduated. Cleophus met and married Wanda McBath and this union was blessed with two daughters. Cleophus worked for Gerber Coburn for thirty years as a Optical Grinder. He was a faithful and devoted member of Little Rose Baptist Church where he worked with the Brotherhood and Devotional Committee until his health began to fail him.
Quietly on January 4, 2006, he passed onto glory.
The family preceding him in death were his parents, William and Cosie Harris. Half-brothers, Nathaniel, Roy and James "Junior" Barnett.
Those he leaves behind to cherish their fond memories of him include his daughters, Royelle Harris, of Bartlesville, OK and Cozetta Harris, of Tulsa, OK, three grandchildren, Christopher, Darius and Azariah. His devoted step-mother Royelle Harris of the home. His dedicated sister whom cared for him during his illness, Gladys Harris Moss (Undra). His brother Ira Lee Harris (Herrien), both of Muskogee, OK. Two uncles Sylvester Harris (Ora Lee), of Cleveland, TN and I.Q. Harris (Fernia Mae), of Nashville, TN, one aunt Queen Esther Harris, of Palasenta, CA. A special friend, Wilma Edwards and longtime special family friends, Frank Seabolt, Virgil Lagow and Jimmy Westbrook, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The homegoing service for Cleophus will be January 11th, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Macedonia Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Smith, Sr., host pastor, the Eulogy will be given by Rev. Michael Scott.
He will be laid to rest in Doyle Cemetery, under the direction of Ragsdale Funeral Center. Visitation will be today from 1:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
