It appears that Cramp Cemetery was established around 1896 with the burial of Nancy Harris, wife of Thomas Harris. However this may not be the case due to several older looking Cherokee burial sites in the cemetery. This cemetery consists mainly of Cherokee Indians as the names on the tombstones indicate. James Anderson, a Cherokee who served in Company A. 1st Cherokee Mounted Volunteers under Stand Watie is buried here. It may be noted that there are an unusually large number of children and infant graves in this cemetery. Most of which are only marked with sandstone rocks.
