Steven Eston Newton II, 44 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was born on March 27, 1976 to Steven Eston Newton and Amy (George) Newton in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Steven graduated from Haskell High School with the class of 1995.
Steven was the youth resident advisor at Cherokee Nation and enjoyed his work helping guide youth. He also enjoyed his work as a cooler at the Electric Cowboy. He worked at many other places over the years including, NFI in Muskogee, OK, and Walmart Distribution Center in Ramona, OK and Fleming Distribution Center in Tulsa, OK.
Steven was a simple man. He loved his wife, his family and his dogs very much. Steven enjoyed family dinners and get togethers, hanging out with friends and helping anyone he met. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eston and Wanda Newton; maternal grandparents, King and Bessie George; and brother, Preston Miles Newton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Newton of the home; parents, Steven and Amy Newton of Muskogee, OK; siblings, Lindsey Blankenship and husband James of Muskogee, OK, and Julian Newton and wife Megan of Muskogee, OK; nieces and nephews, Madison Berger, Garett Blankenship, and Autumn Newton all of Muskogee, OK; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws.
A celebration of Steven's life will be 10AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Council Hill Cemetery with Father Robert Dye and Rev. Donnie Echols officiating. Interment will follow with James Blankenship, Julian Newton, Gary Osborne, Jr., Nick Kucera, Ray Knight, Jason Meadors, Rodney McFarland and Tommie Frisbie serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Newton, Gary Osborne, Sr., and Mike Massey.
