Mildred Juanita (Hodges) Purdom

November 14, 1919 ~ August 12, 2006

Funeral services for Mildred Juanita Purdom, 86, of Warner will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Freewill Baptist Church in Keefeton with Reverend Clay Turner officiating. Pallbearers are great-grandsons, Bryan Center, P.J. James, Daniel Davis, Brett Davis, Jason Villines and J. T. Thornton. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Center, Jimmy Villines, Royce Harp, Timothy Purdom, Wyatt Nance, Ethan Nance, James Easterling and Cecil Perryman. Burial will be in Agnew Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.

Mrs. Purdom was born November 14, 1919 in Chismville, Arkansas, the daughter of Alfred Hodges and Goldie “ Swader” Hodges and died August 12, 2006 in Tulsa.

On October 6, 1934 she wed Guthrie R (Gus) Purdom in Martin, OK and shared 63 years. Mildred was a lifetime homemaker, wife, mother and blessed grandparent. She enjoyed her family, gardening, crocheting, and gospel music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her son, Raymond Purdom of Warner, OK; five daughters, Mary Daniel of Okemah, OK, Della Mae Hischke of Warner, OK; Betty Villines of Porum, OK, Phyllis Harp of Warner, OK, Cyndee Nance of Warner, OK; three brothers, Ved Hodges of Warner, OK, A.D. Hodges of Colorado Springs, CO; and Billy Hodges of Doublin, CA; one sister Letha Rhoden of Santa Clara, CA; twenty-three grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
