He passed away Sunday April 5, 2020 at Sulphur, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years 9 months and 13 days.
He was married to Mary (Castleberry) Maddox at Ardmore, OK on November 2, 1957. He had lived in this area most of his life, and attended Sulphur Schools. James had lived in several areas while working as a airplane mechanic for Boeing Air Lines. He lived in Dallas, Texas where he worked for Braniff Airlines from 1965 to 2003 when they returned to Sulphur. He had served in the US Air Force for 4 years. James was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Donald Maddox, a daughter: Debbie Gorrell.
Survived by his Wife: Mary Maddox, of Sulphur, OK Daughter: Terri Richardson, of Sulphur, OK 3 Grandchildren: Ricky Gorrell, Angel Parrott, and Donjalec Hughes 4 Great Grandchildren: Aleck Gorrell, Makaylah Isbell, Timothy Isbell, and Noah Graves.
Services will be held Thursday April 9, 2020 at 2:00PM Graveside at Oaklawn Cemetery (attendees limited to 10 people or less) officiated by Angel Parrott.
Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.
