He passed away Saturday December 5, 2020 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years 11 months and 11 days.
Von had lived in this area all of his life. He graduated from Sulphur High School and Murray State College with a degree in science. He worked at the Sulphur Veteran Center for 20 years before his retirement. He was a member of the National Guard Unit 1120 Maintenance Co. of Sulphur retiring after 25 years. He loved to write poetry, songs, and stories. Von loved to play the guitar and was a very talented person and played music by ear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Marilyn Smith: niece: LaRee Hallum.
Von is Survived by: Brother & sister-in-law: Kenneth Ray Brewer & Linda, of Wynnewood, OK; Sister, Virginia Howard, of Ardmore, OK Nieces: LaTawyna Matthews Misty Brantley & Korey, Mona Flannigan & David, Jan Benton, Jennifer Melton, Kendra Jumper & Chad. Several Great Nieces & Nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday December 9, 2020 at 2:00PM at Graveside-Drake-Nebo Cemetery officiated by Rev Dick Terry.
Burial will be at Drake - Nebo Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home
