Graveside services for Earl Lee Smith will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2003
at 2:00 p.m. at the South Burns Cemetery under the direction of McClure Funeral
Home, Cordell, Oklahoma.
Earl was the son of Leland and Jessie Mae (watson) Smith. He was born January
29, 1939 at Cordell, Oklahoma. He departed this life January 19, 2003 at the
age of 63 years, 11 months and 20 days.
Earl returned to this area in 1977 from Sacramento, California where he worked
as a dietician at Sacramento Medical Center, UC Davis for 11 years. He has
farmed for the past 16 years. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Earl enjoyed farming, fishing, dancing, auctions, cards and games and helping
others.
Survivors include his lifetime friend and partner, Ray Don Feland; his mother,
Jessie Smith of Hobart; two brothers, Timmie Gene Smith of Dill City and J.L.
Smith of Cordell; one sister, Etta Collarini of Apple Valley, California; and
other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Dwayne as a child and his father.
