Funeral services for Eva Geis, 78, of Hobart, were held October 28 at the First Baptist Church in Hobart, Oklahoma with the Rev. Tommy Clark and Dan Maxwell officiating. Interment followed in the Hobart Rose Cemetery in Hobart, Oklahoma under the direction of Hackney-Gish Funeral Home.

Eva passed away on October 24, 2002 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 21, 1924 in Corn, Oklahoma to Henry and Martha (Schmaltz) Bartel. She graduated from Corn Bible Academy.

She married Earl Geis on January 27, 1942 in Corn, Oklahoma. She moved to Hobart in 1979 and lived in Kiowa and Washita County all of her life.

Eva was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hobart.

Survivors include her husband, Earl, of the home in Hobart; one son, Howard Geis and wife, Carolyn of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sharon Hesser of Altus, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jonna Hanes and Husband Steve, Jennifer Barnett and husband Ron, Brent Geis and wife Heidi and Stephanie Hesser; one great- granddaughter, Ashley Barnett and one sister, Frieda Unruh of Reedley, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
