WEBER, REUBEN CHESTER 1908-1993
SOUTHARD - The funeral for Reuben Chester Weber, 84, will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Canton, Oklahoma. The Rev. Mike McReynolds will officiate. Burial will be in Cherryvale Cemetery under direction of Haigler Funeral Home of Canton, Oklahoma. He was born August 18th, 1908 near Okeene to Adam and Emma (Nuse) Weber and died Tuesday January 12th, 1993 at Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma. He attended grade school at Arapaho and graduated from Okeene High School in 1926. he then worked in the wheat harvest until 1929, then worked for U.S. Gypsum Company at Southard, Oklahoma retiring in 1973 after 43 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. On July 20th, 1935 he married Edna Grauberger at Cherokee, Oklahoma. They lived in the Southard community. He was an avid stamp collector and an income tax preparer. Surviving are his wife; two sons: M. C. of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and J. C. of Canton, Oklahoma; one sister, Helen Grauberger of Okeene, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Canton-Longdale Ambulance Service.
