WINTER, LEONHART 1855-1936
OBITUARY - Leonhart Winter, aged pioneer resident of Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma, died at his home in Okeene, Monday, December 28, 1936. He had reached the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 25 days having been in poor health for some time. Mr. Winter was born in Russia. He came to the United States and first located near Hitchcock, Blaine County, Oklahoma. He moved to Okeene about 20 years ago. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Matilda Winter; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Sauer of Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Newt Nelson of Providence, Rhode Island; two sons, John L. Winter of Hitchcock, Oklahoma and George Winter of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Gottfried Winter of Colorado. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, December 31, 1936, at the Lutheran Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Lorenz and Rev Siebert of Enid, Oklahoma. Internment was in the Bierig Cemetery, Okeene, Blaine County, Oklahoma. The Rice-Weber Funeral Home were morticians in charge.
