OKEENE - The funeral for Leona Elizabeth Winter, 83, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Church of Christ with the Revs. Van Herd and Fred Rider officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home. The casket will be open at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m Sunday, and prior to the service at the church, Monday. She was born February 18, 1916, near Okeene to David and Elizabeth (Hollander) Weber and died Thursday, January 20, 2000 at her daughter's home in Norman, Oklahoma. She attended Roosevelt Grade School and graduated from Okeene High School in 1935. On July 27, 1937, she married Harvey L. Winter. They were married 52 years before his death in 1989. She is survived by one son: Harlan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter: Shari Payne of Norman, Oklahoma; three brothers, Reuben and Roy Weber of Okeene, Oklahoma, and Chester Weber of Onalaska, Texas; one sister, Louise Boeckman of Okeene, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and an infant brother. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. John's United Church of Christ.
